The prestigious city master singles was hosted by our club and kicked off on May 5TH 2008. This year we had 108 entries!
A quality field was assembled including last years winner, Irishman, Jeremy Henry. Others included David Holt, Shaun parnis, Ray Pickard, our own Ray Pearse and Leif Selby to name but a few.
Following four days of sectional play the final 16 were back on Friday to fight it out.

The final four had some surprises with Dean Smith beating Jeremy Henry into a semi final spot,Todd Shannon beat Adam Jeffery, Brad Rossiter over Matt Dedini and Ray Pearse over Dean Aitkin.
We have never had a finalist in all the years of running the tournament, and here we were with the possibility of having two.
A fantastic final was played between out two local boys Ray Pearse and Dean Smith.
Dean got over Ray in the first set, but Ray came back more confidently in the second set to take it to a tie break, after one end each, Dean ended up the victor.
